April Making Connections

Do you love horses and writing? Or have you always wished you could spend some time with horses? Join us for one or more writing circles, including playing with wonderful horses. Each circle will have a different theme that will guide our writing in the community and working with horses under the guidance of the PALS staff. At the end of the circle, we will reflect on our time together and what we gained from the experience. No horse or writing background is needed.

6/24 – 6/28

Equine Explorer Camp (Beginner)

This beginner camp is for kids who want to learn more about horses and how to care for them. Campers will be assigned their own horse to care for throughout the week and learn about how to take care of them through mounted, ground, and classroom activities. Activities include learning about horse nutrition, anatomy, horse behavior, riding skills, and how to interact with your horse on the ground.

7/8 – 7/12

Equine Excellence Showcase Camp (Intermediate)

This camp is focused on developing hands-on equine skills and improving independent riding skills. Campers must know how to groom and tack and have experience riding up to the walk and trot. Campers will learn and provide daily care for their horse while at camp and receive equine instruction focused on improving equitation so riders are ready to move up to the next level and be able to learn about different aspects of the equine industry.
